So I have decided to up the health journey stakes by agreeing to run a half marathon this year!!!
I know CRAZY…13 miles later I will need to be airlifted all the way back home, or my poor man will just have to carry me.
In order to achieve the unachievable I went for a run for the 1st time in about 3 years, although it ended up being more of a fast walk rather than a run. I must admit I was quite proud of myself until I took my earphones out and heard my deep gasping breathes and very loud treading on the treadmill. I am lucky enough to have access to a private gym at work which has the basic necessities but it also has the downside of everything you do echoing throughout the whole room, at least that’s what I am blaming it on. So instead I just popped the earphones back in my ears and carried on heavily panting and being proud 🙂
So tomorrow, as it’s my day off, I might have to go for a run (I say run, but I mean fast walk) around the park near my house. I am not sure how long this is all going to last but since I am keen and motivated I might as well make the most of it 🙂
The run: 5 min fast walking, 2 min of actual running, and 8 min of inclined fast walking, this is nowhere near the 21km I have to do in Sept 😦
